Client Overview

The client is a leading designer, manufacturer, and retailer of premium window treatments and home textiles in the United States. Operating in the home décor segment, the company specializes in drapes, curtains, and bedding. The business sells through its direct-to-consumer eCommerce platform as well as multiple online marketplaces, including Amazon, Walmart, Overstock, and others. As the company expanded its digital footprint, the need for a scalable and reliable integration architecture became critical.

Business Challenges

Rapid expansion across multiple marketplaces exposed the limitations of the client’s existing integration approach. Manual synchronization between Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and platforms such as Shopify, Amazon Seller and Vendor Central, Walmart, and other marketplaces resulted in operational inefficiencies and processing delays.

Homegrown web services that were built to automate workflows struggled with scalability and optimization, leading to system performance issues. The lack of orchestration across order lifecycle events, including fulfillment, cancellations, and returns, created operational bottlenecks that slowed down day-to-day operations.

In addition, financial reporting and cash reconciliation from multiple marketplaces were time-consuming and error-prone, placing added pressure on finance and operations teams.

Solution Implementation

BURQ iPaaS was implemented as the central integration and orchestration layer between Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and major eCommerce platforms and marketplaces. The solution connected Shopify, Amazon Seller Central, Amazon Vendor Central, Walmart, Overstock, Bed Bath & Beyond, Macy’s, and Home Depot, enabling near real-time synchronization of orders, inventory, cancellations, and returns across all channels.

Inventory threshold management was introduced to enforce buffer limits and prevent overselling. Custom enhancements supported Amazon Vendor Central–specific requirements, including additional data fields and tailored compliance reports.

Within Business Central, custom operational and financial reports were developed, along with targeted bug fixes and performance optimizations to improve system reliability. Financial automation was enabled through cash receipt journal customization, automatically converting marketplace payment reports into journals. This reduced manual effort, improved reconciliation accuracy, accelerated financial close, and delivered a scalable, performance-optimized integration architecture.
